Chinese investors have complained of harassment over Bangladesh`s new tax system and visa issue. This complaint was made in a seminar jointly organized by the Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industries and the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka on Saturday.
A seminar titled Stakeholders Consultation with Chinese Investors: Challenges, Expectations and Prospects was held at the Bangabandhu Bangladesh China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal. After the discussion of the seminar, in the open session, the representatives of two companies investing in Bangladesh complained about the delay in imposing customs duties and taxes and issuing visas.
Later, the Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, Sung Yong, sought the help of BCCCI leaders and relevant government officials present at the seminar to solve these complaints. BCCCI President Gazi Ghulam Mortuza presided over the program conducted by BCCCI General Secretary Al Mamun Mridha.
