‘Jonmo o Jonir Itihash’ banned from book fair

The book "Jonmo o Jonir Itihash" by Jannatun Nayeem Prity has been prohibited from the current book fair by the Amar Ekushey Book Fair taskforce. 

The task force's chairman, Ashim Kumar Dey, told the media that the book had a number of contentious issues, such as derogatory remarks against judges and personal attacks. 

“These violate the book fair's policies. Therefore, we have asked the publisher that the book should not be displayed or sold at the ongoing fair. And the publisher agreed with our call,” he added. 

The publishing house is Nalonda. 

Redwanur Rahman Jewel, publisher of Nalonda told the reporters, "We stopped selling Prity's book during the fair as requested by the task force. However, the book is available at Banglabazar.”
