Police have applied for ten days remand of journalists Mozammel Babu, Shyamal Dutt, and Shahriar Kabir, former president of the Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee of 1971, in two murder cases.
They were brought to Dhaka`s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate`s Court on Tuesday morning. The remand will be heard later.
Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of Ekatar Television Mozammel Babu and former General Secretary of Jatiya Press Club Shyamal Dutt were arrested on Monday from the Mymensingh border area, and Shahriar Kabir was arrested from his house.
Meanwhile, the police have sought a 5-day remand of former railway minister Nurul Islam Sujon in a murder case filed at Jatrabari police station.
Sujan was arrested from Shyamoli in the city yesterday.
While filing this report around 10 AM the remand hearing was ongoing at the CMM court.
