From tampering with official documents to publishing fake advertisements on newspapers, he left no stone unturned to continue his job as a teacher and also hire others at Kurmitola High School and College in Dhaka.
By doing these, Md Abdul Khaleq, former principal of the educational institute, allegedly took lakhs in bribes. His own recruitment is even in question. He is already facing a case over a false experience certificate issued during his appointment there.
And, the latest number of allegations saw several lawsuits and complaints being filed at courts and Khilkhet police station against him.
Nevertheless, the existing governing body is vocal against his alleged corruption.
It is alleged that Khaleq manipulated the resolution of the recruitment committee, and tampered with the selection exam records and signatures of the officials concerned. He also faked an appointment letter of two candidates.
DM Nazrul, a former member of the governing body, said Khaleq was once suspended, but he managed to return following a court order.
“Khaleq faked the signatures of the former chief of the governing body and the director general of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education. It has already been proven,” he said.
Khaleq hired a physics teacher and an economics lecturer in exchange of bribe, Nazrul alleged.
“In doing so, he published a fake newspaper notification without informing the governing body,” he added.
The two teachers joined on December 8, 2019.
When contacted, Khaleq brushed aside the allegations brought against him.
“Is it ever possible to recruit someone without the approval from the governing body?” he questioned.
On the allegation of faking signatures, he said, “I’m not linked to these. I’m not even aware of these.”
The governing body’s chairman, Md Aslam Uddin, said they have already probed the allegations.
“We’ll take proper measures soon,” he added.
