Primary schools to run in single shift from January, 2023

All the government primary schools across the country will run their educational activities in one shift and the decision will come into effect from January, 2023.

Primary and Mass Education Secretary Aminul Islam on Sunday (October 30) made the disclosure in a press briefing at the Secretariat.

The secretary said, “We are planning to bring all the primary schools of the country under single shift system. We hope we will be able to implement this from January next year.”

Efforts will be made to start and end schools at the same time throughout the country, Aminul Islam added.

The Secretary of the Primary and Mass Education Ministry also said, Taking into consideration the number of classrooms, teachers and students, one shift will be introduced in all government primary schools.”

Mentioning that the students of primary schools will get their new books on the 1st of January new year, Aminul Islam also said it is a continuous process to improve the quality of education for the primary schools. There are 65 thousand primary educational institutions across the country. Of these, there are a good number of schools who have name and fame for their internationally standard teaching.

The Secretary has also informed that the ministry is trying toil and moil to cut an excellent figure in improving quality of education for all primary schools, but many parents are being interested to send their child to the expensive schools as their economic capacity is increasing.”

It is mentionable, as two shifts were running in some schools, there was anger among the teachers of one shift. They were demanding a shift.
