A total of 432 new dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases this year to 30,376, according to a bulletin issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday (August 28).
The DGHS data shows that Barishal division recorded the highest number of new cases with 86 patients, followed by 90 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 70 in Chattogram, 68 in areas outside Dhaka city corporations, 52 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 31 in Rajshahi, 30 in Mymensingh, and 5 in Sylhet.
During the same period, 431 patients were discharged after recovery. So far in 2025, a total of 28,831 dengue patients have recovered and left hospitals.
The DGHS also reported that the official death toll from dengue has risen to 118 as of August 28. Among the infected patients this year, 59.4 percent are male and 40.6 percent female.
