In the last 24 hours, five more people have died from dengue in Bangladesh, while 387 patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country.
The information was released on Sunday in a dengue-related press statement by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to the statement, the number of hospitalized patients in the last 24 hours by division is as follows:
- Barishal (outside city corporation): 40
- Chattogram (outside city corporation): 71
- Dhaka (outside city corporation): 83
- Dhaka North City Corporation: 53
- Dhaka South City Corporation: 55
- Khulna (outside city corporation): 33
- Mymensingh (outside city corporation): 26
- Rajshahi (outside city corporation): 22
- Sylhet (outside city corporation): 4
In the same period, 447 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals. This brings the total number of patients discharged so far this year to 98,729.
A total of 144,700 dengue cases have been reported in Bangladesh this year, with 62.5% male and 37.5% female.
With the recent deaths, the total number of dengue fatalities in the country this year has reached 409.
For comparison, in 2024, Bangladesh recorded 101,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths.
