BNP leader Golapur Rahman died while he was in prison. He died at Kashimpur Jail in Gazipur around 3:15 pm on Saturday. He was 58 years old at the time of his death.
BNP National Executive Committee Organizing Secretary Mahbuber Rahman Shamim confirmed the matter. The deceased Golapur Rahman was the senior vice-president of BNP No. 5 Mohra Ward of Chandgao Police Station, Chittagong.
Notably, on October 28, 2023, the day before Dhaka`s mass gathering, he was arrested by the police in front of the BNP`s central office in Nayapaltan of the capital.
