On Sunday morning in Belabo upazila of Narsingdi district, a truck killed four people, leaving three more injured.
Abul Kalam, 36, Siddique Mia, 45, Abu Siddique, 38, and Nuru Mia, 45, all residents of the upazila, were identified as the deceased.
According to Nur Hossain, sub-inspector (SI) of Bhairab Highway police, the Bhairab-bound truck plowed through a kitchen market on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Mahmudabad, leaving three persons dead on the scene and four others injured.
Nuru Mia passed away on the way to Bhairab Upazila Health Complex, he stated.
The truck was seized by the police, but the driver escaped.
According to the SI, the bodies were taken to the morgue at Narsingdi Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem.
