Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, on Saturday, urged expatriate Bangladeshis to highlight Bangladesh’s development journey and give a fitting reply to the propaganda abroad against the country and the government.
“Give fitting response to propaganda against us,” she said.
The premier was addressing a civic reception, accorded to her by the Bangladeshi community in New York, US.
She asked Bangladeshi expats to convey a true picture of the country’s unprecedented development that transpired under the Awami League government, and move forward with dignity and honour that Bangladesh has earned.
Sheikh Hasina said relatives of war criminals, killers of the Father of the Nation, and criminals who fled Bangladesh are behind these propagandas against Bangladesh and the government.
“People, who are circulating propaganda on social media, were mostly sacked from their jobs for misdeeds or fled the country after committing crimes,” she said.
The PM called upon all to reveal the true characters and misdeeds of the people who are circulating false information about the government and Bangladesh using social media.
“Don’t pay heed to their words (propaganda), rather highlight our development,” she added.
Sheikh Hasina asked them to inform US congressmen, senators and elected representatives in their locality about the development in Bangladesh and maintain communication with them.
