Govt reshuffles 14 senior police officials, including four DIGs

The government has transferred 14 senior police officials, including four Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) of Bangladesh Police. The Ministry of Home Affairs issued separate notifications regarding the transfers on Tuesday.

According to the notifications, Mymensingh Range DIG Md Ataul Kibria has been appointed as DIG of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner (DIG) Mohammad Zahidul Hasan has been transferred as the new DIG of Mymensingh Range.

Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Commissioner (DIG) Abdul Quddus Chowdhury has been appointed as the DIG of Chattogram Range.

Meanwhile, Police Headquarters DIG Sarwar Murshed Shamim has been appointed as the Commissioner (DIG) of Sylhet Metropolitan Police.

The notifications also said that an earlier transfer order issued on June 28, which had transferred CID DIG Mia Masud Karim to the Foreigners, Displaced and Migrated Nationals (FDMN) office under the Armed Police Battalion (APBn), has been cancelled.

Among the other officials transferred are Pabna Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Chhufi Ullah, who has been moved to CID. Abu Ashraf of the Anti-Terrorism Unit has been appointed as the new SP of Pabna.

In addition, Anti-Terrorism Unit SP Sharif Uddin Ahmed has been transferred to the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), while Industrial Police Additional DIG Md Kafil Uddin has been transferred to Police Headquarters.
