Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, has arrived in his home district of Bogra for an official visit.
His motorcade reached the Bogra Circuit House at 9:58 AM on Monday, where he was greeted with festive celebrations and state honors.
Upon arrival, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Bogra, Md. Taufiqur Rahman, officially welcomed the Prime Minister with a floral bouquet.
Accompanying him on this trip is his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, who was also warmly welcomed with flowers by Additional Deputy Commissioner Salma Akhter.
Following the reception, a smartly turned-out contingent of the police and armed forces accorded the Prime Minister a formal Guard of Honor at the Circuit House premises.
The Prime Minister’s journey began earlier this morning, departing from his Gulshan residence in Dhaka by road at 6:10 AM.
As the motorcade traveled through the Dhaka-Bogra highway, thousands of locals and party supporters lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the leader, waving flags and chanting slogans to welcome him back to his ancestral roots.
Bogra has been transformed into a city of festivities centered on Tarique Rahman`s visit, as he returned to the city after almost two decades.
