Bangladesh-India Friendship Power Company Limited has recorded its highest monthly electricity production from the Rampal power plant, generating more than 760 million units in April.
The Maitree Super Thermal Power Plant in Rampal supplied over 9 percent of the country’s total electricity during the month, officials said.
This is the fifth time the plant has crossed 700 million units in a single month.
Officials said the plant operated at a high level during early April, when power demand increased due to a heatwave, helping support the national grid.
BIFPCL Managing Director Ramanath Pujari said the performance shows the plant’s strong capacity and the effort of its workforce.
Authorities said the plant continues to play an important role in meeting the country’s growing energy demand.
