Preliminary turnout figures for the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) and hall elections indicate that seven of the eight polling centers saw voter participation rates ranging from 65% to 85%. Data from one center is still pending.
Voting began at 8:00 am on Tuesday and concluded at 4:00 pm. According to informal reports from the returning officers, Curzon Hall recorded over 80% turnout, the Physical Education Center 83%, the TSC center 69%, Dhaka University Club 67%, Udayan School 84–85%, the Department of Geology 65%, and the University Laboratory Center 65.25%.
As of 5:00 pm, results from the Senate Building center, which serves three halls with a total of 4,835 registered voters, were not yet available. Returning officers reported that by 2:30 pm, around 4,000 votes had been cast there, indicating a turnout of approximately 83%.
Overall, higher participation was observed in male student halls, where turnout exceeded 80%, while female student halls recorded between 65% and 69% turnout. Election officials noted that even the female halls’ participation was significant.
