Awami League wants to throw BNP out of the field before the elections. That is why BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has claimed that the Awami League government is making the whole country a prison.
He said these things in a press conference at the political office of BNP chairman in Gulshan on Monday (March 6) morning.
Fakhrul said, I am deeply concerned that BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, who is currently incarcerated in Keraniganj Jail in a false and politically motivated case and is a victim of government's political revenge, has become very ill and the government and prison authorities have neglected to give him proper treatment.
He said that Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, who was shot in the chest and leg during the anti-tyranny Ershad movement, is physically very sick with diabetes, high blood pressure, lung complications and heart disease due to corona. He can't walk up the stairs without help, and he always has to rely on a stick. In such a situation, he is being brought from Keraniganj prison in a prison van for a long way to reach the court in Old Dhaka. In these prison vans there is no provision to sit or even to stand on anything.
He said that numerous leaders and activists are imprisoned under the current government's wrath. The cruel Awami government used the state machinery to eliminate and harass the leaders and activists of the opposition party and turned the whole country into a prison by sending them to prison through false cases. Prisons now have no room for moles.
