"Mujib: The Making of a Nation," a biographical drama on Bangladesh`s greatest legend, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, directed by Shyam Benegal, will be released in local theaters on October 13.
The eagerly awaited "Mujib" biopic`s official trailer was premiered today at a five-star hotel in Dhaka. Dr Hasan Mahmud, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, attended the ceremony.
The film will be released in India on October 27.
On July 31, the film got uncensored certificate. Previously, a one-minute and thirty-second trailer for the 75th Cannes Film Festival was released.
The latest official trailer reveals the dramatic, patriotic story of Bangladesh`s birth. The production is billed as a "extraordinary biographical film that brings to life the story of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, popularly known as Bangabandhu - The Friend of Bengal."
Arifin Shuvoo plays the role of Bangabandhu, and Nusraat Faria plays Sheikh Hasina in the biography. Sheikh Fazilatunnesa, played by Nusrat Imrose Tisha, is a key part in the film. In addition to them, over a hundred actors contributed to the movie.
"Mujib" is an official co-production between Bangladesh and India, made possible by the Audio Visual Co-Production Agreement between the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the People`s Republic of Bangladesh and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of India.
It is co-produced by the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) and the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) of India. Shama Zaidi and Atul Tiwari wrote the story and script.
