During her "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran" global tour, pop icon Shakira took a surprising tumble while performing at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, on May 20. The 48-year-old Colombian singer slipped onstage mid-performance of her 2001 hit “Whenever, Wherever.”
Videos shared by fans on social media show her dancing energetically before suddenly losing balance and falling sideways.
Despite the unexpected fall, Shakira quickly regained composure and continued performing, earning cheers and praise from the crowd.
She later acknowledged the moment by resharing the video on her Instagram Story, which has since expired. Admirers commended her quick recovery and resilience, calling her a “queen” and a “symbol of strength.”
“She handled it like the boss she is,” wrote one user. Another praised her professionalism, hoping she wasn’t hurt.
The tour has faced earlier challenges. In February, Shakira postponed a concert in Lima, Peru, due to a stomach illness that led to a hospital visit. She later performed as scheduled the next night.
Shakira began the tour in Rio de Janeiro on February 11 and is set to perform across North America, wrapping up in San Francisco on June 30.
