At the ICC Academy Ground No. 2 in Dubai, Bangladesh U-19 defeated India U-19 by four wickets in the semi-final of the ongoing U19 Asia Cup.
Bangladesh defeated India, a formidable opponent, with 44 balls remaining thanks to the impressive 138-run partnership between Ariful Islam and Ahrar Amin.
Bangladesh was trailing 34-3 when they lost match-winning centurion Ashiqur Rahman Shibly for 7 wickets in quick succession during the chase against India.
Together, Ariful and Ahrar reconstructed their innings, scoring 44 and 94 runs, respectively, after joining forces for the fourth wicket.
With the help of the potent spells that Indian bowlers were using for controlling Bangladeshi hitters, the Tigers were able to rally.
Earlier, after being asked to bat, India amassed 188 runs with fifties of Murugan Abhishek and Musheer Khan, respectively.
While India continued to lose wickets at regular intervals, Maruf Mridha took four wickets, Rohanat Doullah Borson took two, and Parvez Jibon took two.
But Musheer scored 50 and Abhishek scored 62, helping India reach a mediocre total.
