The Bangla Academy has announced the names of awardees for this year's Bangla Academy Literary Award.
The names of researchers Razia Sultana and Israel Khan, and poet Sirajul Farid have been announced for the Bangla Academy Sahitya Puroshkar (Bangla Academy Literary Award).
The matter was revealed by Bangla Academy in a press release on Wednesday.
In the release, the Bangla Academy said that these three awards will be officially conferred upon the eminent personalities at the 45th annual meeting of the Academy's General Council on December 23.
Razia Sultana is receiving the Mohammad Barkatullah Essay Award 2022 for which the prize money is 1 lakh BDT.
Researcher Israel Khan will receive the Sa'dat Ali Akhand Literary Award 2022 for which the prize money is 50 thousand BDT
Finally, Kabir Chowdhury Children's Literature Award 2022 is being given to poet Sirajul Farid along with prize money one lakh BDT.
Bangla Academy Sahitya Puroshkar (Bangla Academy Literary Award) is given in recognition of creative genius in advancement and overall contribution in the field of Bengali language and literature.
The award was introduced in 1960.
