In a disturbing incident, Abu Sayem, a student leader and co-coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Bogura, received a chilling death threat.

The words "Prepare for death" were spray-painted on the wall of his family home in Naodapara, Bogura, causing alarm and fear among his family and the local community.

Sayem’s older brother, Shahadat Hossain, spoke about the shocking discovery, which was made early Tuesday morning.

The family woke up to find the threatening message scrawled on their wall, leaving them feeling unsafe in their own home.

Abu Sayem, the youngest son of Abdul Gafur Pramanik, is not only a student leader but also a second-year degree student at Bogura Government Azizul Haque College.

As part of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement‍‍`s Bogura District Committee, he has been actively involved in protests, standing against government policies and calling for change.

Shahadat explained, "My brother has been actively involved in student protests, especially around areas like Matidali.

He’s been fighting for justice and playing a key role in efforts to bring about political change. But now, someone has written a death threat on the wall of his room."

Expressing his frustration and fear, he added, "He has risked his life for the country’s freedom. If, even after independence, my brother faces such threats, then what did we gain from this freedom? I call on the authorities to ensure that no one else is threatened in this way. We demand a proper investigation and justice."

Sakib Khan, the district coordinator of the movement, shared his own experience, saying, "Back on October 2, some people chased me on motorcycles. I chased them back, but they disappeared. Later, I filed a General Diary (GD) with the police for my safety. Now, my fellow coordinator, Abu Sayem, has received this death threat at his home."

He emphasized that their movement would not be silenced by fear: "We don’t care about threats. We are ready to remove this fascist government and their supporters from this country. Whoever is behind this must be investigated and brought to justice."

Bogura Sadar Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC), SM Moinuddin, confirmed that law enforcement is already looking into the matter.

"After hearing about the incident, we have multiple teams working on it. We’ve already received the GD related to the chase involving Sakib Khan. Rest assured, we will find those responsible and take legal action against them," he said.

This incident has sparked widespread concern in the area, with many calling for swift action to protect student leaders like Sayem, who continue to push for change despite the risks.
