More than 62 million women will be eligible to vote in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election and referendum scheduled for February 12, according to official data released by the Election Commission.

The total number of voters across the country stands at 127,711,899. Of them, 62,885,525 are women, 64,825,154 are men, and 1,220 voters belong to the hijra (transgender) community, the commission said.

Voter numbers vary widely among the country’s 300 constituencies. Jhalakathi-1 has the smallest electorate with 228,431 voters, while Gazipur-2 has the largest, with 804,333 registered voters.

To conduct the polls, around 800,000 officials will be deployed for election duties. In addition, nearly 900,000 members of law enforcement agencies will be assigned to ensure security during both the parliamentary election and the referendum.
