The government has officially changed the names of 14 hospitals and medical colleges across the country.
The Health Services Division of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued a notification in this regard on Sunday.
According to the notification, the names of the following institutions at both national and district levels have been updated.
Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery has been renamed the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in the capital. Meanwhile, the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital in Faridpur is now known as Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Eye Hospital and Training Institute is now Gopalganj Eye Hospital and Training Institute, while Sheikh Hasina Medical College Hospital in Tangail is now Tangail Medical College Hospital.
Additionally, the Sheikh Russell National Gastro Liver Institute and Hospital has been renamed National Gastro Liver Institute and Hospital.
Sheikh Lutfor Rahman Dental College Hospital has been renamed Gopalganj Dental College Hospital, while the Sheikh Sayera Khatun Medical College Hospital is now known as Gopalganj Medical College Hospital. Additionally, the Sheikh Sayera Khatun Trauma Centre has been renamed Gopalganj Trauma Center.
The 250-bed Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital has been changed to Sirajganj 250-bed General Hospital, and Sheikh Hasina Medical College in Jamalpur is now Jamalpur Medical College.
Shahid Sheikh Abu Naser Specialized Hospital has been renamed Khulna Specialized Hospital, while Bangabandhu (Daldia) Union Health Sub-Centre in Kishoreganj is now the Daldia Union Health Sub-Centre.
Colonel Malek Medical College Hospital has been renamed Manikganj Medical College, and M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital in Dinajpur has been changed to Dinajpur Medical College.
The notice stated that the order, issued in the public interest, will take effect immediately.
