South Korea reported 110,666 new COVID-19 cases as of midnight Friday compared to 24 hours ago, raising the total number of infections to 20,383,621, the health authorities said Saturday.
The daily caseload was slightly down from 112,901 the previous day, but it was higher than 81,981 tallied a week earlier, according to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA).
For the past week, the daily average number of confirmed cases was 97,334. Among the new cases, 573 were imported, lifting the total to 47,442. The number of infected people who were in serious condition stood at 313, down seven from the previous day.
Forty-five more deaths were confirmed, leaving the death toll at 25,236.
