An air conditioner explosion at a house in Dhaka’s Jatrabari area has left four members of the same family with burn injuries. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Friday at a residence in Dhalpur.
The injured — Mohammad Tuhin Hossain (38), his wife Eva Akter (30), and their two sons Tanvir (9) and Tawhid (7) — have been admitted to the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
According to doctors, Tuhin sustained burns to 47 percent of his body and Tanvir to 40 percent; both are in critical condition. Tawhid suffered burns to 8 percent of his body, while Eva Akter sustained burns to 15 percent.
Eva’s sister, Farzana Akter, said the family members were asleep when the air conditioner suddenly exploded in the middle of the night.
