Holidaymakers heading home as Eid vacation begins

City dwellers have been heading towards village homes as the Eid vacation has started at various offices.

Mad rush of holidaymakers was seen at the Paturia ferry terminal since early Friday. The pressure will further rise when the garments industries would declare their holidays.

Hundreds of Eid travellers are rushing to different bus counters across the city while long queues of vehicles were reported at ferry terminals.

However, heatwaves across the country created additional suffering for the commuters. Children and women are the worst sufferers.   

The terminal authority said, no trouble will be created if the vehicles follow proper lanes. Four kilometers long traffic tailback was created along the Padma river.

As many as 33 launches are moving to carry passengers. They hoped a smooth Eid travel if any natural disaster of inclement weather does not hit.
