A total of 27 committees of three different wards affiliated to Dhaka City North unit of ruling Awami League have been dissolved due to failure and inaction in dealing with the ongoing movement.

This decision was taken at a discussion meeting organized at Souchna Community Center in Mohammadpur of the capital on Thursday night.

This view exchange meeting that lasted for five hours was held with various ward leaders of Mohammadpur, Adabar and Sher Bangla Nagar Police Stations of Dhaka-13 Constituency .

Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Minister of Textiles and Jute, lawmaker from Dhaka-13 Constituency and Awami League‍‍`s Presidium Member, was present.

After the meeting, Dhaka City North unit of Awami League President Sheikh Bazlur Rahman confirmed the dissolution of the committee.

He said, "We are not getting them in the movement or in the struggling time. Many are inactive. So we have dissolved a total of 27 unit committees."

Before this, there were attacks on the local offices of the ruling party in various areas included in Dhaka-13 Constituency last Thursday and Friday during quota movement.
