July Declaration: BNP will not give an opinion despite attending the meeting

Despite attending a meeting today, the BNP has decided not to offer any opinions on the July Revolution Declaration.

The party feels it needs more time to discuss the declaration within the party and with its allies.

In this situation, BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed is set to meet with Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser of the interim government, on Thursday, but the party will refrain from making any remarks on the declaration, according to a report by Samakal.

Party insiders said that Salahuddin Ahmed will let the Chief Adviser know that the BNP requires more time to properly review and give their thoughts on the declaration.

When approached for a comment, BNP Standing Committee member Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku confirmed, "On our behalf, Salahuddin Ahmed will meet with the Chief Adviser today. However, no opinion will be given on the July Declaration during the meeting."

Meanwhile, leaders from BNP‍‍`s allied parties have echoed similar concerns about the time constraints regarding the declaration.

A leader from an allied party involved in the joint anti-fascist movement shared that the government had asked for their opinion on the July Declaration.

However, due to the lack of enough time, they have not yet completed the internal discussions needed.

As a result, they will not be able to attend the meeting.
