Nagorik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna has expressed concern over the ongoing situation in the country on Saturday.

Manna made this appeal at a press conference organized by Nagorik Oikya at Tofazzal Hossain Manik Miah Hall of the National Press Club, reports Dhaka Tribune.

He called on the interim government to take swift initiatives to resolve the crisis.

He said: "An interim government means that as long as they are in power, they function as a full-fledged government. In such a situation, they cannot remain silent. We are deeply concerned. We hope the government will take prompt initiatives to resolve these issues."

The press conference was organized to present the party’s stance on the 166 reform proposals of the National Consensus Commission.

The written statement at the conference was presented by Manjur Kader, joint general secretary of Nagorik Oikya.

Also present at the conference were Shahidullah Kaiser, general secretary of Nagorik Oikya; and presidium members Mominul Islam, Jinnur Chowdhury Dipu, and Mofakhkharul Islam Nawab.
