The physical condition of Nurul Haque Nur, President of Gono Odhikar Parishad, is gradually improving, according to Brigadier General Md Asaduzzaman, Director of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). He confirmed that Nur’s latest CT scan report came out satisfactory.
Speaking at the hospital on Sunday morning, August 31, Asaduzzaman said Nur is currently under close observation by doctors. “Although his condition is gradually improving, some health complications remain,” he added.
The DMCH director explained that Nur is suffering from four major injuries: a broken nasal bone, a fractured jaw, eye injuries, and brain hemorrhage. However, due to ongoing treatment, the brain hemorrhage is slowly reducing.
“The latest CT scan report is good. Although he is still experiencing some trauma, his condition is improving step by step,” Asaduzzaman said.
He further mentioned that Nur is being treated under the supervision of a six-member medical board, with doctors closely monitoring his overall condition.
Nur sustained severe injuries around 9 pm on Friday during a clash between the Jatiya Party and Gono Odhikar Parishad near Al Razi Tower, when law enforcement baton-charged protesters. Several leaders and activists were injured, and Nur was rushed to DMCH by fellow party members.
