DU student caught cheating lands in jail

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Nurul Huda passed the order as police produced Md Akterul Islam before the court and pleaded to place him on seven-day remand. The court also set August 16 for holding hearing on the remand plea.

JnU Faculty of Arts dean Prof Dr Md Rois Uddin filed the case against three, the main culprit Md Rabbi, who arranges the proxy in exam, proxy candidate Akterul and real candidate Sejan Mahfuz.

Invigilator caught Akterul as his face did not match with the photograph of the real candidate, given on the admit card. In the primary interrogation, Akterul confessed coming to sit for the exam as a proxy for Taka 1.40 lakh.
