Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira arrived in Dhaka Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10:30 am on Sunday and Foreign Secretary Masoud Bin Momen welcomed him on a two-day visit.
Mauro Vieira paid tribute to Bangabandhu at Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in Dhanmondi at 2:20 pm on Sunday. State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam will hold a meeting with Mr. Vieira at 3:20 p.m.
Later, he will hold a bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud at State Guest House Jamuna at 5:15 pm.
The Brazilian Foreign Minister will have a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at 10 am on Monday. He will then visit the Square Pharmaceuticals factory and Beximco Industrial Park in Gazipur.
As the current chair of the G20, he will talk about Brazil`s priorities at the Foreign Service Academy this afternoon. Mauro Vieira will meet with businessmen at Hotel Intercontinental at 4 pm and later he will attend Iftar and dinner organized by FBCCI, an association of elite businessmen of Bangladesh. He will leave Dhaka by air at 11:55 pm.
The Brazilian Foreign Minister brought a large delegation. Those concerned think that the commercial and diplomatic relations of Bangladesh with Brazil through this visit will be very strong. One agreement and three MoUs are expected to be signed during his visit.
