The results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations have been published today, Thursday, 10 July, revealing a notable decline in both pass rates and the number of GPA-5 achievers compared to the previous year.

This year, the overall pass rate stands at 68.45%, while 139,032 students obtained the highest grade, GPA-5.

The numbers mark a significant drop from last year, when the pass rate was 83.03% and a total of 182,129 students secured GPA-5.

Unlike previous years, no formal ceremony was held to announce the results. Instead, each education board has published the results separately through their respective platforms.

The decline has raised concerns among educators, parents, and policymakers, as it represents one of the lowest pass rates in recent years.

Further analysis is expected in the coming days to understand the causes behind this year’s performance.
