Bangla Academy Director General Professor Dr Md Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari resigned from his post on Saturday, said Nargis Sanjida Sultana, deputy director of the Public Relations Subdivision of the Academy.
Askari took charge as the DG of the Bangla Academy on July 24 after the public administration ministry issued a gazette notification on July 18.
Earlier, the government appointed Islamic University’s former vice-chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari as the Director General of the Bangla Academy for the next three years.
Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari, who previously served the IU in Kushtia as its 12th VC, joined the university as lecturer in English in 1990.
