State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief, Mohibbur Rahman, announced that Cyclone Rimale has caused losses amounting to BDT 6,880 crore.
He shared this information during a press conference following an inter-ministerial meeting on Sunday, June 2, addressing the overall situation of Cyclone Rimale.
The state minister explained that the assessment of the damages is being conducted under the directives of the Prime Minister. The current damage estimate comes from the Ministry of Disaster Management. A comprehensive evaluation of the total damages will be conducted in an inter-ministerial meeting next Sunday, June 9. Additionally, he mentioned that assistance will be provided to the affected families.
"Thousands of fish enclosures in the southern region have been submerged, causing many to lose everything. The ministry is working to provide financial assistance to them," said the state minister
