Meteorologist AKM Nazmul Haque from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has indicated that a low-pressure area might form in the southern Bay of Bengal on Wednesday (May 22) or Thursday (May 23).
Nazmul Haque stated, "If a low-pressure area develops and strengthens in the southwestern Bay of Bengal and adjacent areas by Wednesday, it could turn into a cyclone. However, it`s too early to predict its path."
Meteorologist Kazi Zebunnesa added, "The direction of the potential cyclone will become clearer after the low-pressure area forms on Wednesday afternoon."
The 24-hour weather forecast suggests a temperature drop of 1 to 2 degrees Celsius during the day and night in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. In other regions, temperatures are expected to remain relatively unchanged. Many areas in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions, along with some parts of Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions, may experience temporary gusty or squally winds with rain or thundershowers. Additionally, there is a chance of isolated hailstorms in some places.
