Bangladesh is expected to experience widespread rain and thunderstorms over the next 24 hours, with the weather office warning of gusty winds, lightning and heavy rainfall in some areas.
According to the latest forecast issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Thursday morning, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely in most parts of the country, particularly across Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
The forecast also indicates that several areas may experience temporary strong winds and lightning activity during rain spells. Meanwhile, Khulna and Barishal divisions are likely to see rainfall in a few places.
The Met Office said some locations across the country could receive moderately heavy to heavy rainfall, which may lead to localized waterlogging in low-lying areas.
Weather officials expect daytime temperatures to remain largely unchanged, while nighttime temperatures may rise slightly over the country.
The unsettled weather pattern comes as seasonal rainfall activity continues to strengthen across Bangladesh, bringing relief from recent warm conditions in many regions.
