The massive peace rally by three associate wings-- Juba League, Swechasebak League and Chhatra League-- of the ruling Awami League has been deferred to Friday as the Agargaon trade fair ground has not suitable for the event, said Awami League Office Secretary Biplob Barua on Wednesday evening.
But earlier in the day, the party sources said the rally would be held at the south gate of BaitulMukarram National Mosque in the city at 3pm on Thursday. AL General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader will be present as the chief guest at the rally.
The massive peace rally is aimed at protesting alleged attacks on their leaders and activists in different parts of the country.
