Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq on Sunday urged all to bring "people’s leader Sheikh Hasina" to power again as no one will be able to live in peace if BNP-Jamaat regains power.
The minister said this while speaking at a discussion meeting as the chief guest organized by Bangabandhu Krishibid Parishad and Bangladesh Agricultural University Alumni Association on the occasion of National Mourning Day at Krishibid Institution auditorium of city’s Khamarbari area this afternoon.
Anisul Huq said, “Through her visionary leadership, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ensured electricity for everyone`s home, provided housing for the homeless and established democracy in the country. The position that Sheikh Hasina has taken Bangladesh today has increased the dignity of the Bengali nation all over the world.”
It identified Bangladesh as a role model for development, he added.
Expressing grief, Anisul Huq also said that the Bangabandhu, even the Pakistani rulers did not dare to kill him, was assassinated by some Mir-Zafar and traitors of the country.
“The main purpose of killing him and his family was to kill Bangladesh. Because the killers knew that if a single member of Bangabandhu`s family was alive, he could not be suppressed,” said the minister.
Agriculture Minister Dr Muhammad Abdur Razzaque said Bangabandhu wanted to change the entire agricultural system through giving utmost importance to agriculture.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has revolutionized the field of agricultural development to fulfill the dream of Bangabandhu. We have to continue this trend,” he said.
Poet Nirmalendu Goon, MP Sahadara Mannan, Agriculture Secretary Wahida Akter, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Sharfuddin Ahmed, among others, spoke on the occasion.
