An intense brawl broke out between the leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) at Dhaka University, injuring several from the BNP's student wing.
It all started as the BCL leaders and activists intercepted their JCD counterparts while heading for the office of the university's vice-chancellor with a protest letter on Tuesday afternoon.
As the JCD men reached near the Sir AF Rahman Hall, the BCL leaders and activists attacked them with sticks.
Two JCD activists received serious head injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.
Meanwhile, BCL leaders and activists started to gather on the Madhur Canteen premises as the news of the JCD men entering the campus broke.
The BCL men chanted slogans against JCD and Chhatra Shibir.
