Amar Bangladesh Party, AB Party, said that we must not allow this interim government to fail. Hundreds and thousands of youths made supreme sacrifices in this popular uprising. Millions of people came out to the streets to protest against discrimination, of all kinds and forms, which eventually culminated in ousting of the dictatorial regime. AB Party leaders were raising their concerns and expectations from the extraordinary government at a meeting held on Monday afternoon at Bijoy 71 square.
Mojibur Rahman Monju, called upon the interim government to restore law and order situations to bring public confidence back so that the citizens feel safe and comfortable, as priority. He affirms that Bangladesh never had any minority, but citizens. So, we would like to urge you not to trust any smear campaign of the ousted regime and their foreign allies.
Prof. Dr. Abdul Wahab Minar, a Joint Convenor, said that there have been lots of violence and vandalism, and few attacks on the minorities and their properties. Without further delay, an investigation committee will be formed to independently investigate facts and overwhelming fictions to counter propaganda.
Tajul Islam, a Joint Convenor of the party, a commission to amend the constitution to be formed to address unfair provisions therein to avoid any more dictators and unelected regime taking over. As the lady dictator fled the country, her loyal supporters must not attempt to create any chaos and countrywide violence.
Asaduzzaman Fuaad, a barrister-at-law and Joint Member Secretary, Member Secretary of the party, said that we already called for undertaking a justice and accountability process led by the UN, and/or other development partners, international human rights organizations. The interim government and administration members should help the process in every way possible.
