Begum Khaleda Zia, the BNP chairperson, is really looking forward to returning to Bangladesh.

Dr. A. Z. M. Zahid Hossain, a key member of the BNP and her personal doctor, revealed that just yesterday, Khaleda Zia said,

"Let‍‍`s quickly return to Bangladesh. The country is the best place for us."

Dr. Zahid shared this update during a prayer event at Brick Lane Mosque in East London on Tuesday evening, January 30, where people had gathered to mark the death anniversary of Arafat Rahman Koko.

Dr. Zahid explained that Khaleda Zia had been stuck in prison for a long time due to false charges during an oppressive regime.

She recently underwent several tests at a London clinic, but the results haven‍‍`t come through yet. Once the test results are in, they will decide when she can return home.

He also mentioned that Khaleda Zia is staying with her son, Tarique Rahman, her two daughters-in-law, Dr. Zobaida Rahman and Sharmila Rahman, and her three granddaughters.

Naturally, being with her loved ones has made her feel happier. Thanks to the tireless efforts of her doctors and family, her health has been improving, and she’s feeling more stable.

Dr. Zahid took the opportunity to express his thanks to all those who have prayed for Khaleda Zia’s recovery, saying,

"We are grateful for everyone’s prayers. We all continue to pray for her health, and she has asked for your prayers too."

Khaleda Zia arrived in London on January 7, 2025, with the help of a special air ambulance sent by the Emir of Qatar.

From Heathrow, she was directly taken to a clinic where she’s now under the care of Professor John Patrick Kennedy.

The 79-year-old former Prime Minister has been dealing with several health issues for a while, including liver cirrhosis, kidney problems, heart disease, diabetes, and arthritis.
