Postponed Eid Films Set for Release During Durga Puja

Several Bangladeshi films initially scheduled for release during the recent Eid-ul-Adha are now preparing for release during the upcoming Durga Puja festival.

Out of the ten films slated for Eid release, four were postponed at the last moment, including Nadan, Sardar Barir Khela, Shironam, and Pineek.

Nadan, directed by Farhad Hossain, was pulled from the Eid lineup due to technical complications. The director confirmed that the film is now set for release across the country during Durga Puja, with a targeted premiere on September 26. Promotional activities are expected to begin in early September. The cast includes Shyamal Mawla, Saima Smrity, Rakib Hossain Ebon, Erfan Mridha Shiblu, and Saif Khan.

Similarly, Pineek, directed by Zahid Jewel, missed its Eid release due to pending VFX work. The psychological thriller, starring Ador Azad and Bubly, is now being planned for a Durga Puja release. An official announcement regarding its release date will be made soon.

Another postponed film, Sardar Barir Khela, directed by Rakhal Sabuj, is also targeting a Puja release, with the production company expected to make a formal announcement shortly. The film features Ziaul Roshan, Shabnam Bubly, and Azad Abul Kalam in key roles.

Meanwhile, Shironam, directed by Anik Biswas, will not be ready by Puja but is expected to hit theaters later this year. The film explores contemporary social issues and stars Nirab Hossain, Yamin Haque Bobby, Salahuddin Lavlu, and Shatabdi Wadud.
