Dhaka University has called application for its MPhil and PhD programmes for the upcoming academic sessions.
For the MPhil programme (2026–2027 session), candidates can download the application form from the university website (https://du.ac.bd) until February 1, 2026.
Completed forms must be submitted to the respective department or institute office. Each application should include attested copies of certificates and mark sheets, a recent passport-size photo, the original bank receipt, and a research synopsis.
Requirements for MPhil applicants include having at least second division/class in all examinations, with a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5-point scale or 3.0 on a 4-point scale. Special provisions apply for candidates from disadvantaged groups.
For the PhD programme (2025–2026 session, January–June), forms are also available on the university website. Applicants are asked to submit required documents, including a Tk 1,000 bank receipt, attested mark sheets, photo, and research synopsis.
Eligibility requires an MPhil degree or a combination of honours and master’s degrees as specified.
Candidates must have at least second division/class and CGPA 3.5 on a 5-point scale or 3.0 on a 4-point scale with carrying minimum 50 percent of the marks in honours and masters programmes.
Applicants must also have at least two research publications in recognized journals.
For Arts, Social Sciences, and Business Studies faculties, one single-authored paper is mandatory.
Those with three-year honours and one-year master’s degrees must additionally show two years of teaching, research, or professional experience.
