On Saturday , Muha Academy, in partnership with Ek Takae Brikkhoropon (One Taka Tree Plantation), hosted a transformative workshop titled “Constructive MoJo for Climate Change” at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University’s Auditorium. The event, designed to enhance solution-oriented journalism in climate change, saw enthusiastic participation from university students, young content creators, and climate-conscious individuals.

The workshop, led by Suliman Niloy, Master Trainer at Muha Academy, introduced the concept of Mobile Journalism (MoJo) and its potential to revolutionize climate change reporting.

With smartphones in hand, participants explored practical tools for capturing impactful stories about climate change, from local solutions to global challenges. The session emphasized how mobile journalism can make climate reporting more accessible, fast, and affordable.

Participants delved into video storytelling techniques, including the art of idea development, visual language, A-roll and B-roll footage, interviews, and sound design. They also learned to integrate the ‍‍`Solutions Journalism‍‍` approach to highlight root causes, existing solutions, and future possibilities, all while focusing on the positive impact of local climate adaptation initiatives.

Suliman Niloy, Muha Academy’s Master Trainer, shared his insights, saying, “This workshop is a crucial part of our Constructive MoJo program. By expanding this method across the nation’s climate journalism, we aim to foster a more solution-driven approach to climate change reporting.”

Sheikh Abdullah Yasin, President of Ek Takae Brikkhoropon, further reinforced the workshop‍‍`s importance, stating that the training provided a comprehensive understanding of environmental journalism, empowering participants to report with a focus on solutions.

The event underscored the growing need for journalism that goes beyond crisis reporting, highlighting local initiatives and adaptation strategies. The aim is to inspire the public to engage with and act on climate solutions, contributing to a more sustainable future.

The success of the workshop paves the way for future training sessions on constructive climate journalism, with plans to expand the initiative to educational institutions and communities across the country.
